Steven Raga has dedicated his career to fighting for the working families, immigrants, and seniors of Western Queens: two decades as a local community organizer, two terms as an Assemblymember.
Now he's running for State Senate so every family can afford to stay, every kid gets a real shot, and nobody gets left behind.

What We’re Fighting For
Healthcare for All — Fighting to pass the NY Health Act because no one should ever be denied care.
Housing Justice — Making housing more affordable so families aren’t priced out of their neighborhoods.
Protecting our Immigrant Neighbors — Stopping all collusion with non-local law enforcement so every family feels safe in their community.
Faster and Reliable Transit — Improving service so New Yorkers can get where they need to go quickly and on time.
Making the Wealthy Pay their Fair Share — So the wealthy pay what they owe, not profit off hardworking New Yorkers.
“As New York City Public Advocate, I know how critical it is to have strong partners in state government like Steven Raga. He has a proven track record of standing up for progressive values, delivering real results for working families. A champion for labor rights and affordability, and a tireless fighter for immigrant communities, he has always fought for the people, not the powerful. I'm proud to endorse him for State Senate District 12."

"I've seen what happens when government doesn't show up for people like us. I've also seen what's possible when it does. Western Queens deserves a Senator who knows the difference — and has spent their whole life fighting for it."
About Steve
Steven Raga grew up in Woodside, Queens, the son of a Filipina immigrant and Teamsters member who raised him alone in a series of basement apartments, facing eviction more than once. Those experiences shaped everything—his two decades of community organizing, his work leading Woodside on the Move, and his belief that the people who make Western Queens what it is deserve a government that actually fights for them.
In 2022, Steven made history as the first Filipino American and first Southeast Asian ever elected to the New York State Legislature. Since then he has delivered, winning Good Cause Eviction protections, the Housing Access Voucher Program, and hundreds of millions of dollars for housing, hospitals, and public universities. Now he is running for State Senate to finish what he started. For Western Queens. For all of us.
